Kerala – for adventure lovers
Like all other destinations, we always look for what’s different in a place and what are the adventures that it can offer our customers that will last a lifetime. Kerala – known as God’s own country is not only a place to be cherished by people who love a little laid- back getaway from city life but also one that offers some crazy fun times for people who cannot keep their feet on the ground for too long.
Apart from the lush green tea plantations, popular viewpoints and wildlife reserves, Kerala has some kick-ass activities that you should try in your next visit there. We’ve listed a few of them for you in our post here. Have a look and I’m sure you’ll soon be planning your next adventure holiday in Kerala.
Kayaking and Canoeing
The best way to experience the backwaters and lush green foliage is by taking a canoe / kayak ride in the waters. There are various options available and you can choose from them to truly get up close with the backwater experience in Kerala
Up for some close encounters with the wild? Then this one is for you. Walk in the forests of Thekkady along the tiger trail with the help of an expert guide and enjoy the wildlife by being right in between the forest. You are sure to enjoy the sightings of some wild species on your way .
For all mountain lovers who find heaven in India’s northern landscapes, Kerala offers some high peaks in the Western Ghats with breath-taking views. It is a complete different experience as compared to the Himalayas but you’re sure to love every bit of it. Be it the Annamudi peak in Munnar or the Chembra peak in Wayanad, climbing up a mountain on a full day excursion will take your Kerala experience one notch higher.
Bamboo rafting in the rivers
All nature lovers must not miss the opportunity to go bamboo rafting at Periyar Tiger Reserve, Thekkady. You can gently row your bamboo rafts and hear the chirping of exotic birds, see wild animals and just enjoy the serenity of the jungle reserve. You can also have a similar experience in Wayanad. This activity usually takes up the whole day so be sure to employ one day just for the reserve.
Living in a tree-house
Living in a tree-house gives you an opportunity to have a birds’ eye view of the wildlife around you. It works as a vantage point from where you can see wildlife like Elephants and other jungle animals in their natural habitat. Such facilities are offered by many resorts in Kerala.
Take an elephant ride
Kerala is known for its procession of decked-up elephants. You can explore the countryside of Kerala by riding on an elephant, venture deep into forests or simply enjoy the many tea plantations in this unconventional manner
Paragliding in Munnar
Now this is my favourite. If you thought Kerala was all about tranquillity, think again. You can paraglide atop the hills in Munnar and enjoy a breath-taking view.
